Blake Farber is a filmmaker/director from New York City. He does music videos and commercials / short films all over the world. He also plays guitar in New York Hardcore band Olde York. – When was the first time you picked up a camera and realised “this is what I wanna do for a living”?
[two_third]Blake Farber: It’s not that I’ve picked up a camera, I was born with a camera in my hand! Both my mom and dad are photographers… So it came natural to follow in their footsteps. Olde York – Shallow World CD (Review)

Olde York return with a new cd called “Shallow World”. Three years after their debut album “Empire State” which was released on Countdown Records.

While their style hasn’t changed much, they still essentially play old school New York Hardcore, the first thing I noticed when spinning “Shallow World” the first time was that their sound and songs have matured a lot, compared to “Empire State”. This can also be contributed to the excellent production by Mike Dijan (Breakdown, Skarhead, Crown Of Thornz, Sai Nam) and mixing / mastering by Dean Baltulonis (who has worked with everybody from Agnostic Front to Converge to Danny Diablo).

Olde York set to release new cd “Shallow World”

New York Hardcore outfit Olde York will release their new cd “Shallow World” on September 21st, on Dutch hardcore label WTF (responsible for releases from Human Demise, Spider Crew, All For Nothing & more).

About Olde York:

Ted, Blake, Devon and Mike hail from hardcore’s true home, New York City.
Together they have drawn on countless influences to create a modern take on New York Hardcore.
Their debut full length album “Empire State” on Countdown Records was released in 2009 and has been received very well worldwide.
A lot of new friends were made touring Europe for this release.
Recently the band has refined their classic feel with this second full length release on WTF Records.
